Located in the lush highlands of south-west Mauritius, in Chamarel, the Seven Coloured Earth, the first geopark in Mauritius, brings together some of the island’s most iconic landscapes within one natural destination. Between multicoloured dunes, a spectacular waterfall, a giant tortoise park and an endemic garden, the Geopark offers an immersive journey through geology, biodiversity and Mauritian heritage.
The Geopark is home to the impressive Chamarel waterfall, the tallest single-drop waterfall in Mauritius, surrounded by dense tropical vegetation. Further along, the famous multicoloured dunes, shaped by volcanic activity and rich in minerals, remain among the island’s rarest natural formations. The site also features a park of giant Aldabra tortoises.
A few minutes from the Geopark, visitors can discover Mauritius’ only coffee plantation through an immersive guided tour. Recognised for its premium quality, unique terroir and local know-how, Café de Chamarel reveals the different stages of coffee production within the plantations of Chamarel.
